Rosmorport’s Azov-Black Sea Basin Branch takes delivery of workboat Bata (photo)
FSUE Rosmorport says its Azov-Black Sea Basin branch took delivery of new ice-class workboat Bata on November 29, 2016.
The ship of Project ST23WIM was built by Petrozavodsk, Karelia based Onezhsky Shipbuilding Ship Repair Yard (Onezhsky Shipyard) to the order of FSUE Rosmorport. Having completed her sea trials in the Petrozavodsk Bay of the Onega lake, the workboat left Petrozavodsk for seaport Temryuk in November 2016. It took the ship more than 15 days to cover 3,500 km by inland water ways and the Azov Sea.
The Bata is the forth pilot boat and the 14th unit in the fleet of Taman department.
With her ice class Iсe2, the Bata can sail in brash ice of up to 20 cm thick.
The Azov-Black Sea Basin branch of FSUE Rosmorport will deploy the boat for delivery of pilots to/from vessels and for pilotage at the water areas and at the approaches to Kavkaz, Taman and Temryuk seaports.
The boat will also take part in rescue operations, patrolling of water areas and delivery of crewmembers and supplies to vessels.
