Lead coast guard ship Polyarnaya Zvezda delivered to Border Guard Service of Russia’s FSB
Lead coast guard ship Polyarnaya Zvezda (Polar Star, project 22100) built by Tatarstan-based Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky is delivered to the Border Guard Service of Russia’s FSB. The flag hoisting ceremony was held in Kronshtadt on 17 December 2016, says the shipyard.
New generation border guard ship was developed by Central Marine Design Bureau Almaz (Saint-Petersburg). According to the designer, the key advantages of the ship include a unique navigation & tactical system as well as her electric power plant that lets save fuel at low speed. The ship is fully automated, her endurance is 2 months.
In the nearest time the Polyarnaya Zvezda will leave for Murmansk, her place of deployment.
Tatarstan-based OJSC Zelenodolsk Plant named after M. Gorky specializes in the construction of warships and passenger high-speed vessels. The enterprise is managed by AK BARS HOLDING.
