In January-October 2017, seaports of Russia handled 649.5 mln t of cargo (up 9.3%, year-on-year), says press center of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports.
Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 306.5 mln t (+10.4%) including 129.1 mln t of coal (+13.8%), 39.7 mln t of containerized cargo (+13.0%), 37.0 mln t of grain (+31.3%), 23.1 mln t of ferrous metal (-2.3%), 14.3 mln t of mineral fertilizers (+8.8%) and 2.5 mln t of refrigerated cargo (+2.5%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 343.0 mln t (+8.3%) including 210.7 mln t of crude oil (+12.6%), 116.8 mln t of oil products (+1.2%) and 11.8 mln t of liquefied gas (+7.2%).
Exports totaled 500.6 mln t (+6.9%), imports - 29.6 mln t (+14.0%), transit - 47.7 mln t (+15.4%), short-sea traffic - 71.4 mln t (+21.9%).
Operators of the Arctic Basin handled 60.9 mln t (+52.2%) including 36.7 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+104.6%) and 24.2 mln t of dry cargo (+9.6%). The port of Murmansk handled 42.6 mln t (+60.1%), Varandei - 7.0 mln t (+5.4%).
The ports of the Baltic Sea Basin handled 205.4 mln t (+4.9%) including 85.9 mln t of dry cargo (+16.2%) and 119.5 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-1.9 %). The port of Ust-Luga handled 85.0 mln t (+10.8 %), Primorsk - 49.4 mln t (-8.6 %), Big Port St. Petersburg - 44.0 mln t (+10.0%), Vysotsk - 14.4 mln t (+2.0%).
Throughput of seaports in the Azov-Black Sea Basin totaled 219.3 mln t (+9.8 %) including 95.3 mln t of dry cargo (+10.1%), 124.0 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+9.5%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 120.2 mln t (+11.7%), Tuapse - 21.8 mln t (+6.1 %), Kavkaz - 29.0 mln t (+7.1%), Taman - 12.2 mln t (+13.7%), Rostov-on-Don - 11.8 mln t (+9.4%), Kerch - 7.8 mln t (-1.3%).
The ports of the Caspian Basin handled 3.1 mln t (-35.3%) including 2.2 mln t of dry cargo (-9.8%) and 0.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (-61.4%). The port of Makhachkala handled 1.1 mln t (-58.3%), Astrakhan - 1.8 mln t (-9.1 %), Olya – 195,000 (+25.0%).
The ports of the Far East Basin handled 160.7 mln t (+4.4%) including 98.8 mln t of dry cargo (+6.7%) and 61.9 mln t of liquid bulk cargo (+1.0%). Port Vostochny handled 57.7 mln t (+1.4%), Vanino - 24.7 mln t (-0.9%), Nakhodka - 20.2 mln t (+3.8%), Prigorodnoye - 14.1 mln t (+6.7%), Vladivostok - 14.0 mln t (+18.7%), Posiet - 6.4 mln t (-5.1%), De-Castri - 9.2 mln t (-3.5 %).
Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports, forwarding and agency companies, scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
