The assembly of motor vehicle spans of the Crimea Bridge has been completed. The bridge road thus links the Taman and the Kerch coasts. A chain of metal structures weighing over 100,000 t stretches over the Kerch Strait on 288 support structures. According to the Crimean Bridge information center, the bridge will be ready for vehicle traffic by the end of 2018.
The bridge road stretches for 17 km (plus 2 km of the elevated approach on the Kerch shore) including more than 6 km over the water area.
Having assembled the motor vehicle spans the bridge builders have implemented the plan for 2017.
The construction of the railway section of the Crimea Bridge is underway. It will be opened in 2019.
