Taganrog Commercial Seaport plans allocation of $4.2 mln for implementation of its 2018 development programme

Taganrog Commercial Seaport JSC (TCS, part of UCL Holding) is implementing the modernization programme focused on the development of port infrastructure. Till the end of 2018 TCS is going to finance investments totaling $4.2 mln, says the company's press release.

The bulk of the amount will be spent for implementation of the investment project on acquiring of two full-circle electrical rail cranes. Aist RPS-640 portal cranes with the capacity of up to 32 tonnes will be fitted with 10 cbm grabs. With the new cranes the company will be able to improve performance and efficiency of dry bulk cargo handling at Berths No2 and No 3.

To ensure operation of Albatros portal cranes the company will purchase two dedicated 5.8 cbm four-rope clamshell grabs intended for grain and coal transshipment as well as a 5 cbm grain handling grab required for a SENNEBOGEN handling machine.

TCS will allocate funds for acquiring of electric scissor lift needed for maintenance and repair of portal cranes, track-type loaders and the KALMAR loader.

In the framework of technical upgrading the company is going to renovate the fleet of reloading equipment and to purchase a HYUNDAI HL760-9S loader with a 4 cbm bucket intended for coal transshipment.

In order to increase useful capacity of its facilities for accepting, accumulation and storing of dry bulk cargo the port will purchase protective structures of reinforces concrete.

Besides, investment programme of TCS includes a package of measures focused on improvement of safety and fire prevention. Among key activities of 2018 will be replacement of high-voltage equipment, laying and connecting of a high-voltage bridle cable between the port’s substations as well as modernization of power grids at Berths No 1 and No 2 to ensure uninterrupted operation of the GOTTWALD crane.

Taganrog Commercial Seaport JSC (part of UCL Port, a stevedoring division of international transport group UCL Holding) is a key stevedoring company operating at the port of Taganrog.  The company operates at the port’s Berths No 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 8.
