Russia’s Government Commission on Monitoring Foreign Investment has supported Kazakh businessman Timur Kulibayev applying for taking control over the activities of OOO Port Vysotsky.

According to the transcript of the briefing which followed the meeting of the Commission, Igor Artemyev, head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, said:

"The application supported by the Government Commission concerns Kazakhstan citizen Timur Kulibayev who had decided to acquire the Vysotsk port from Russian shareholders. The port is located 50 km away from the Russian-Finland border and 90 km from St. Petersburg. He will gain control over this port.  That will be a continuation of work in the Customs Union. The Kazakh businessman is getting sound assets in the Baltic region, and we are all glad about this".
