Russia’s State Duma passed the bill on ruble tariffs to be applied in seaports
On 26 July 2018, State Duma of the Russian Federation approved in the third reading the draft law “On introduction of amendments into the Federal Law “On seaports of the Russian Federation and on introduction of amendments into certain legislative acts of the Russian Federation” (in the part of setting ruble prices for services offered in seaports of the Russian Federation).
“Prices (tariff, rates) for services offered in seaports should be set in rubles except for cases foreseen by the federal laws”, says the document.
According to the lower house of parliament, the draft law is intended to exclude a possibility of setting prices for services offered at the ports of the Russian Federation in foreign currency or in currency units to prevent considerable growth of the cost of services for Russian legal entities amid the adverse change of national currency’s rates.
