    Join Marinet Conference at SMM 2018, Hamburg

    On September 5, within SMM-2018, the Industry Association MARINET in partnership with PortNews Media Group will host the conference on the most promising maritime high technologies. The Marinet Conference Sponsor is RVC.

    Manufacturers and developers of smart systems will openly discuss with shipowners and regulators the hottest industry topics: e-Navigation, unmanned shipping and maritime robotics. Another feature of the conference is participation of several Russian companies unveiling the most actual maritime developments in Russia.     

    Russian participants include the leading maritime organizations taking part in the MARINET Center: Rosmorrechflot, Sovcomflot, United Shipbuilding Corporation, Kronstadt Technologies, NPM AME, Morinformsystem-Agat Concern, Krylov State Research Center, Nonius Engineering, etc.

    Is e-Navigation concept already outdated, even before its implementation?     Panel Battle #2: Why do not unmanned ships sail? 11:30-12:30, Osaka Hall
    The remote and autonomous shipping enthusiasts promise huge cost reduction and safety improvement, the first remote shipping trials are ongoing, IMO has started to consider relevant regulation – but do we really require and ready for the unmanned sipping? Look at the real unmanned technologies implemented on the sea and discuss together with experts their potential benefits and barriers.

    Maritime Robotics Fest. 13:00-14:30, Osaka Hall
    After the break the conference continues with short speeches about projects in maritime robotics. Get to know the newest implementations in the commercial area and the military solutions conversion, free discuss with developers details and benefits of these solutions.

    About Marinet and National Techology Initiative

    MARINET is a part of the National Technology Initiative in area of advanced maritime technologies development.
    National Technology Initiative (NTI) is a key long-term program of the public-private partnership in development of promising new markets based on high-tech solutions that will determine development of the global and Russian economy in the next 15-20 years. Implementation of the NTI is one of the key tasks set by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on December 4, 2014, in his Address to the Federal Assembly. Based on long-term outlook of global high tech development the NTI was established in 2015 under the supervision of the Presidential Council for Economic Modernization and Innovative Development. Practical implementation of the NTI is started from 2016.

    MARINET currently involves over 60 companies, a wide range of organizations providing advanced technologies for the maritime industry, from the leading corporations and universities to startup companies and research teams.     MARINET provides acceleration and financial support of projects, a legal framework improvement aimed at implementation of the new technologies as well as support for the establishment of cooperation in the Russian and international markets.

    MARINET Roadmap is approved on 16 October 2016 by Presidium of the Presidential Council for Economic Modernization and Innovative Development. It includes development and implementation of activities in the following priority areas:

    – Technology for ocean resources development
    – Innovative shipbuilding
    – Human resources development
    – Improvement of the legal framework and regulations
