New agreement on construction of Zhatai Shipyard signed at EEF-2018

On 13 September 2018, Lena United River Shipping Company and Far East Investment and Export Agency signed an agreement of intent to implement the project on reconstruction of shipbuilding facilities at Zhatai base of fleet maintenance (the Republic of Sakha, Yakutia). According to the press release of LURSC, the document was signed at the Eastern Economic Forum by Sergey Larionov, General Director of the shipping company, and Leonid Petuhov, General Director of the agency.

According to the statement, this agreement is a new step in construction of Zhatai Shipyard which is currently undergoing state expert assessment. 

When fully operational, the shipyard will be able to launch several vessels per year.

PAO Lena United River Shipping Company is the only transport company operating in the Arctic area of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It transports freight and passengers along inland water ways and the sea routes. The company owns and operates a fleet of more than 350 units, including cargo ships, tugs, passenger and support vessels with the total capacity of 450,000 GT.

Far East Investment and Export Agency is an autonomous nonprofit organization, one of the Far East development institutions. The Agency focuses on attracting new investors in the Far Eastern Federal District and providing assistance in the implementation of investment projects.
