RF Navy's corvette Gromky sails to Sea of Japan for next stage of sea trials
The newest corvette Gromky, which is soon going to enter the Pacific Fleet’s strength, has again sailed to the Peter the Great Bay in order to continue the programme of sea trials, says press center of RF Defence Ministry. Aboard the ship there are specialists of the Amur Shipbuilding Plant, where the warship has been built, as well as officers of the Pacific Fleet Staff’s departments and services.
The sea trials are to be provided by the rescue tug Photy Krylov and sea tug MB-92. The PF Naval Aviation’s Ka-27 helicopters, as well as Tu-142 and Il-38 ASW aircraft are used for testing the corvette performance. It is also planned to involve fighter aircraft of the Eastern Military District’s Air Force and Air Defence Army.
