Palau International Ship Registry becomes the latest associate member of BIMCO

The world’s fastest growing ship registry has now joined more than 2,000 other maritime professionals by becoming the latest associate member of BIMCO – The Baltic and International Maritime Council, PISR said in its press release.

Palau International Ship Registry (PISR) is the latest registry to join the world’s largest international shipping association representing ship owners, operators, managers, brokers and agents. PISR has grown to become one of the premier SMART ship registries and joining BIMCO offers unique opportunities for the registry to work alongside some of the biggest names in the maritime sector.

BIMCO is recognised throughout the shipping world for the clarity, consistency and certainty of its standard maritime contracts and Panos Kirnidis, CEO of PISR, regards membership as an important part of the registry’s growing credentials.

Palau International Ship Registry

Palau was the fastest growing flag in the shipping world in 2017 with an impressive 43.2% growth in the number of vessels joining the registry since 2013, as published in Fairplay magazine. The Head Offices are located in Piraeus, Greece and in Houston, Texas giving 24 hour support to its customers.

The Palau International Ship Registry was created by an amendment to the Title 7 of the National Code in 2010 and was appointed by the Government of The Republic of Palau as the Ship Registry Administrator and provides the day-to-day management for the Republic of Palau Ship Registry.

PISR’s goal is to offer a fast, reliable, effective and efficient registration services to shipowners, managers and at the same time provide technical advice in order to ensure that vessels registered under the Palau Flag are in good conditions and in accordance with International Regulations.
