Northern Fleet frigate Admiral Gorshkov sails off to the Barents Sea to perform combat training tasks
The Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov frigate, which was commissioned to the Russian Navy in 2018, went to the ranges of the Northern Fleet to perform combat training tasks as part of the planned activities of combat training and deployment of combat exercises in the new training year, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
Within a few days, the crew of the frigate is to work out voyage organization of service, conduct weapons and equipment trial in the Barents Sea. An exercise of damage control on the move and at anchor, together with an exercise of anti-submarine and air defence are to be held on the board of the warship.
The frigate is to perform a number of practical combat exercises, including the task of engaging surface naval target with complexes of warship's weapons.
After completion of training and combat missions in the Barents Sea, the frigate is to return to Severomorsk, the main naval base of the Northern Fleet.
