Cargo traffic via IWW of Russia forecasted to fall by 3% to 115 million tonnes in 2019
Cargo traffic via inland water ways of Russia is forecasted to decline by 3% to 115 million tonnes in 2019, IAA PortNews correspondent cites Victor Vovk, deputy head of the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot) as saying at the extended meeting of Rosmorrechflot Board and Public Council. According to him, cargo traffic in the Yenisey Basin grew by 7.3%, in the Amur Basin – by 9.1%. Other basins have shown a decrease.
In January-November 2018, passanger traffic on inland water ways of Russia fell by 2.5% to 12.2 million persons. In 2019, passenger terminals are to be built in Veliky Novgorod, Sortavala (Karelian Repblic) and Kirishi (Leningrad Region).
