Gazpromneft Shipping LLC, a subsidiary of Gazpromneft Marine Bunker LLC (Russia’s largest bunkering company), has placed an order for construction of an LNG bunkering tanker at Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard as part of the leasing programme of Sberbank Leasing JSC, a source involved in the project told IAA PortNews.
The tanker of 5,800 cbm in capacity will be assigned an Arс4 class. The delivery of the LNG bunkering tanker to the customer is scheduled for Q4’2020. The tanker will be deployed in Russian ports of the Baltic Sea.
According to the Analytical Department of IAA PortNews, that will be Russia’s first bunkering tanker intended for fueling of ships with liquefied natural gas.
Gazpromneft Marine Bunker LLC is currently in negotiations with MSCC Bronka (Big Port St. Petersburg) on arranging LNG bunkering for container carriers calling the port from the end of 2020.
