Admiralteiskie Verfi shipyard lays down large freezing trawler of Project СТ-192
On 23 January 2019, Admiralteiskie Verfi shipyard (United Shipbuilding Corporation) laid down large freezing trawler of Project СТ-192, IAA PortNews correspondednt reports.
When speaking at the keel-laying ceremony for the first trawler of the project, Aleksandr Buzakov, General Director of the shipbuilding company, said that Admiralteiskie Verfi is resurrecting the tradition of building fishing ships. He emphasized that the ships will be built according to the schedule foreseen by the contract. The first ship is to be launched in launching in April 2020.
According to Fedor Kirsanov, Director General of Russian Fishery Company, the launching of the first two trawlers has been scheduled for March and May 2020. They are to be put into operation in 2021 and will operate in the Far East.
He said that the Admiralteiskie Verfi has started cutting steel for the second trawler in the series. The ships are to be built in pairs – two ships per year with a three-month interval between the keel-laying and a year interval between the pairs.
Fedor Kirsanov also emphasized that 60% of the ship equipment will be of domestic origin.
Admiralteiskie Verfi and Russian Fishery Company signed contracts for construction of six large freezing trawlers of Project СТ-192 on 25 October 2017. The contract foresees an option for three more units.
Key characteristic of СТ-192 design: LOA – 108.2 m, BOA – 21 m, displacement (loaded) – 11,873 t, deadweight (loaded) – 5,332, ice class - ICE 1 A.
AO Admiralteiskie Verfi (Admiralty Shipyards) is a key enterprise of shipbuilding, a centre of conventional submarine building of Russia. The shipyard is affiliated with the United Shipbuilding Corporation. A number of contracts are being successfully implemented at the shipyard for domestic and foreign customers. Three series of submarines are under construction now for RF and foreign Navies. Besides, icebreaker Ilya Muromets and a series of patrol icebreakers are under construction. The Company’s staff numbers 6,300 persons. On 5 November 2018 the shipyard celebrated 314 years from its foundation.
