    Throughput of Russian seaports in Jan'2019 grew by 5.6% Y-o-Y to 67.6 million tonnes of cargo (detalization)

    In January 2019, seaports of Russia handled 67.6 million tonnes of cargo (up 5.6%, year-on-year), says press center of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports.

    Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 28.2 million tonnes (+0.3%) including 12.6 million tonnes of coal (+7.2%), 4.2 million tonnes of containerized cargo (+10.9%), 2.6 million tonnes of ferrous metal (+3.6%), 0.5 million tonnes of ore (+1.6%), 0.3 million tonnes of unitized cargo (+36.0%), 3.0 million tonnes of grain (-4.9%) and 0.3 million tonnes of timber (-21.8%).

    Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 39.4 million tonnes (+9.8%) including 22.4 million tonnes of crude oil (+5.1%), 13.9 million tonnes of oil products (+11.4%) and 2.5 million tonnes of liquefied gas (+45.6%). 

    Exports totaled 52.5 million tonnes (+6.2%), imports - 2.8 million tonnes (+4.2%), transit – 5.6 million tonnes (+9.0%), coastal trade cargo – 6.7 million tonnes (-0.7%).

    Operators of seaports in the Arctic Basin handled 9.4 million tonnes (+25.3%, year-on-year) including 6.8 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+35.8%) and 2.6 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+4.0%). Port Sabetta handled 2.8 million tonnes (up 2.9 times), throughput of port Murmansk remained flat, year-on-year, at 5.4 million tonnes, the port of Arkhangelsk handled 0.2 million tonnes (-3.5%).

    Operators of seaports in the Baltic Basin handled 20.9 million tonnes (-0.1%) including 8.6 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (-1.4%) and 12.3 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+0.8%). The port of Kaliningrad handled 1.0 million tonnes (-16.8%), Vyborg - 0.1 million tonnes (-20.9%), Ust-Luga - 8.6 million tonnes (+0.5%), Primorsk - 4.9 million tonnes (+0.3%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 4.5 million tonnes (+1.8%), Vysotsk - 1.8 million tonnes (+4.3%). 

    Operators of seaports in the Azov-Black Sea Basin handled  21.0 million tonnes (+5.0%) including 13.4 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+11.3%) and 7.6 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (-4.5%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 13.2 million tonnes (+8.3%), Tuapse - 2.4 million tonnes (+12.0%), Rostov-on-Don - 1.3 million tonnes (+27.6%), Taman - 1.3 million tonnes (+29.8%), Azov - 0.6 million tonnes (+6.2%), Kavkaz - 0.8 million tonnes (-42.7%), Kerch - 0.2 million tonnes (down 2.6 times).

    Operators of seaports in the Caspian Basin handled  0.5 million tonnes грузов (+3.7%) including 0.3 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+45.7%) and 0.2 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (-24.3%). The port of Makhachkala handled 0.3 million tonnes (+10.4%), the port of Astrakhan - 0.2 million tonnes (-8.0%). 

    Operators of seaports in the Far East Basin handled 15.8 million tonnes (+4.6%) including 9.2 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+6.0%) and 6.6 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+2.7%). Port Vostochny handled 5.8 million tonnes (+4.5%), Vanino - 2.5 million tonnes (+6.5%), Nakhodka - 1.9 million tonnes (+8.3%), Vladivostok - 1.8 million tonnes (+19.8%), De-Kastri - 1.1 million tonnes (+8.5%), Korsakov - 0.2 million tonnes (up 1.5 times), Prigorodnoye - 1.4 million tonnes (-12.5%), Posiet - 0.6 million tonnes (-0.2%).

    Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports. forwarding and agency companies. scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
