    Okskaya Sudoverf launches second dry cargo carrier of Project RSD32M, Navis-2, ordered by STLC

    On 28 February 2019, Okskaya Sudoverf (a company of UCL Holding) launched yet another dry cargo carrier of Project RSD32M, Navis-2, says Marine Engineering Bureau, the ship designer.
     
    The ship was ordered by State Transport Leasing Company PJSC with Dimar Freight as a leaseholder. The series numbers eight multifunctional dry cargo ships of this design.
      
    Navis-2 is the second vessel in a series of eight ships being built by Okskaya Sudoverf for STLC PJSC and Navis 1 LLC. The shipbuilding contract was signed on 30 November 2017. The keel of the second ship was laid down on 26 June 2018.

    RSD32M ships designed by Marine Engineering Bureau are intended for transportation of general and dry bulk cargo on inland water ways of the Russian Federation in the Azov, Caspian, Black, Mediterranean, Baltic, White and North Seas including sailings around Europe and in the Irish Sea during winter season.

    Class notation: КМ Ice1 R2 AUT1-ICS.

    Key particulars: LOA – 123.17 m, BOA – 16.72 m, depth – 5.5 m, river/sea deadweight (with draft of 3.6 m / 4.2 m) - 3,833 DWT / 5,157 DWT, maximum sea deadweight (with draft of 4.745) – 6,221, speed – 10 knots, capacity of hold – 8,804 cbm (8 holds), endurance in sea - 20 days, crew – 11.
     
    Designed service life of the hull - 24 years.
     
    The lead ship of Project RSD32M, Navis-1, was laid down on 22 May 2018, the second ship in the series – on 26 June 2018, the third ship – on 22 August 2018, the fourth – on 21 September 2018. 

    Okskaya Sudoverf Shipyard JSC is a modern shipbuilding enterprise and a subsidiary of VBTH division of UCL Holding specialising in the construction of oil tankers, medium-tonnage dry bulk carriers of mixed 'river-sea' sailing, containerships, special crafts and barges. In 2015, the Company became the second largest shipyard in Russia in terms of total tonnage of completed and delivered newbuildings.

    UCL Holding (Universal Cargo Logistics Holding) is an international transportation group consolidating a number of Russian shipping, shipbuilding, railway, stevedoring and logistic companies.
