Vympel Shipyard launched first Grachonok-class special purpose boat for Federal National Guard Troops Service

On 19 June 2019, Vympel Shipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl Region) launched the Grachonok-class special purpose boat, the fist in a series of four boats to be built by the shipyard for the Federal National Guard Troops Service. The ceremony was attended by Governor Dmitry Mironov and head of FNGTS Victor Zolotov, say press center of the Yaroslavl Region Government.

“Several boats of this class are being successfully operated by underwater anti-sabotage detachment of RF Navy, – said Dmitry Mironov. – The new Grachonok will join FNGTS. I am sure it will deserve positive comments of the future crew. And we are certainly interested in our companies’ services for the Ministry of Defence, Federal National Guard Troops Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs'.

The boat is designed to combat sabotage and terrorist threats. Under the contract, Vympel is to build four ships of this design. All of them are to be delivered by the end of 2019.

The boat is fitted with a state-of-the-art hydroacoustic complex allowing for searching at the depth of up to 200 meters as well as diving equipment for bottom survey.

Dmitry Mironov and Victor Zolotov also visited the ship assembly yard of Vympel being currently used for construction of Grachonok-class boats, hydrographic ship of Project 19910, missile boat Molniya and hydrofoil Kometa 120М.

The facilities of Vympel shipyard are sufficient for construction of warships and civil ships with length of up to 85 meters and launching weight of up to 2,500 tonnes.

Vympel Shipyard also provides warranty / maintenance service for its products.
