The diesel-electric submarine of the Kola Flotilla (Northern Fleet) Vladikavkaz has left the base in Polyarny and began a transition to the Baltic Sea to participate in the Main Naval Parade which is to be held in St. Petersburg on the last Sunday of July, says press center of RF Defence Ministry.
The submarine has completed a transition from the Barents to the Norwegian Sea. During the transition, her crew will improve naval training and practise a number of rescue exercises and damage control drills. The submarine is expected to arrive in Kronstadt in the first half of July.
At the Main Naval Parade, the Northern Fleet will be represented by four first-rank ships, including the lead frigate Project 22350 Admiral Gorshkov, being on a long-range cruise in the Caribbean. In total, more than 10 warships, boats and support vessels will be involved in the parade, as well as nine airplanes and seven helicopters of the Northern Fleet.
