    Volvo планирует увеличить доставку автомобилей по железнодорожному маршруту между Китаем и портом North Sea Port (Гент)

    Компания Volvo Cars в Генте несколько раз в неделю отправляет свои автомобили из трансграничного порта North Sea Port (Нидерланды-Бельгия) по железной дороге в Китай, Италию и Австрию. Первый поезд, перевозящий 190 ед. кроссоверов XC60 из Китая, прибыл в Клюизендок 4 июля 2019 года и вернется в обратном направлении с 180 машинами моделей XC90, V90 и V60 в китайский порт Сиань, говорится в сообщении компании North Sea Port.

    Запуск нового железнодорожного сервиса из Гента соответствует стратегии Volvo Cars по повышению эффективности операций как с точки зрения производства, так и с точки зрения логистики и экологичности. Экспорт части автомобилей железнодорожным транспортом, а не морским или автомобильным, снижает воздействие на окружающую среду. Кроме того, автомобили будут быстрее доставляться к месту назначения. Срок поставки от завода к конечному пункту назначения может быть сокращено на 50%.

    Поезда в Италию загружаются и разгружаются на терминале DFDS в Меркатордок. Китайские составы прибывают и отправляются из Клюзендока. Железнодорожный оператор Lineas перевозит экспортный груз по железной дороге из порта North Sea Port в Китай и Италию. Отмечается, что в результате перехода Volvo на железнодорожный вид транспорта на автодорогах стало на 5 тыс. автовозов в год меньше.

    Поезд будет курсировать два раза в неделю из порта North Sea Port в китайский Сиань.

    Volvo Car Ghent – автомобильный завод расположенный в порту Гент, принадлежит Volvo Car Corporation. Предприятие включает сварочный цех, покрасочный цех и цех окончательной сборки. Число сотрудников – 6,5 тыс. человек. Volvo Car Ghent – один из самых больших промышленных работодателей в Восточной Фландрии (Бельгия). В 2018 году Volvo Car Ghent выпустила 200 396 автомобилей: модели V40, XC40 и V60.

    North Sea Port — новый трансграничный объединенный порт, созданный путем слияния администрации голландских портов Зеландии (Zeeland Seaports) и администрации бельгийского порта Гент. 60-км портовый район расположенн от Флиссингена (Нидерланды) до Гента (Бельгия) вдоль обоих берегов Западной Шельды и имеет доступ к Северному морю. Акции порта North Sea Port принадлежат 8 акционерам: нидерландским акционерам, администрации провинции Зеландия - 25% и муниципалитетам Борселе, Тернёзен и Флиссинген - по 8,33%; фламандским акционерам - г. Гент (48.52%), муниципалитету Эвергем (0.03%) и Зелзат (0.005%) и провинции Восточной Фландрии (1.444%). В портовой администрации работают 250 человек.

    Порт Гент является вторым по значению портом Бельгии, расположенным у слияния рек Шельды и Лис. С морем порт соединён 32-километровым искусственным каналом. Входной шлюз в канал находится в порту Тернёзен (Нидерланды) в устье р. Шельда. Порт Гент включает гавани и причалы, расположенные в канале шириной 200 м. Причальный фронт - 19,7 км с глубинами до 13,5 м.
