    Throughput of Russian seaports in 6M'2019 grew by 2.8% to 409.0 million tonnes of cargo (detalization)

    In January-June 2019, seaports of Russia handled 409.0 million tonnes of cargo (up 2.8%, year-on-year), says press center of the Association of Commercial Sea Ports.

    Transshipment of dry cargo totaled 179.7 million tonnes (-4.8%) including 70.5 million tonnes of coal (+10.8%), 12.2 million tonnes of grain (-46.9%), 28.0 million tonnes of containerized cargo (+6.5%), 14.0 million tonnes of ferrous metal (-9.8%), 8.9 million tonnes of mineral fertilizers (-3.3%), 3.9 million tonnes of ore (+10.0%) and 2.6 million tonnes of timber (-6.6%).

    Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo totaled 229.3 million tonnes (+9.7%) including 138.2 million tonnes of crude oil (+12.1%), 71.4 million tonnes of oil products (-1.6%) and 16.5 million tonnes of liquefied gas (up 1.6 times). 

    In the reporting period, exports totaled 320.6 million tonnes (+5.0%), imports - 18.7 million tonnes (+3.2%), transit - 32.3 million tonnes (+1.3%), short-sea traffic 37.4 million tonnes (-11.5%).

    Operators of seaports in the Arctic Basin handled 51.7 million tonnes, up 25.1%, year-on-year, including 14.9 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+5.5%) and 36.7 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+35.3%). The port of Murmansk handled 30.9 million tonnes (+7.1%), Sabetta - 13.8 million tonnes (up 2.2 times), Varandei - 3.6 million tonnes (+11.5%), Arkhangelsk - 1.3 million tonnes (-5.8%).

    Operators of seaports in the Baltic Basin handled 130.0 million tonnes (+6.1%) including 55.5 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+2.6%) and 74.5 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+8.8%). The port of Ust-Luga handled 54.3 million tonnes (+10.6%), Big Port St. Petersburg - 30.1 million tonnes (+1.2%), Primorsk - 29.8 million tonnes (+11.5%), Vysotsk - 9.4 million tonnes (+4.8%). 

    Operators of seaports in the Azov-Don Basin handled 118.9 million tonnes (-10.8%) including 41.6 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (-28.3%) and 77.3 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+2.3%). The port of Novorossiysk handled 75.0 million tonnes (-3.6%), Tuapse - 11.3 million tonnes (-15.0%), Rostov-on-Don - 6.9 million tonnes (-10.8%), Kavkaz - 8.0 million tonnes (-39.3%), Taman - 7.5 million tonnes (+22.2%), Temryuk - 2.4 million tonnes (+36.8%).

    Operators of seaports in the Caspian Basin handled 3.5 million tonnes грузов (+44.1%) including 2.2 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (up 2.1 times) and 1.3 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (-7.65%). The port of Makhachkala handled 2.2 million tonnes (up 1.7 times), Astrakhan - 1.1 million tonnes (+10.9%). 

    Operators of seaports in the Far East Basin handled  104.9 million tonnes (+6.8%) including 66.4 million tonnes of dry bulk cargo (+8.6%) and 38.5 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+3.9%). Vostochny port handled 36.8 million tonnes (+6.4%), Vanino - 16.2 million tonnes (+9.0%), Nakhodka - 13.1 million tonnes (+6.5%), Vladivostok - 10.8 million tonnes (+8.8%), De-Kastri - 6.9 million tonnes (+19.5%), Posiet - 3.9 million tonnes (+5.5%), Prigorodnoye - 8.0 million tonnes (-13.6%). 

    Association of Commercial Sea Ports (ASOP) set up in 1987 unites over 50 organizations and enterprises of Russia’s maritime transport. ASOP comprises commercial seaports. forwarding and agency companies. scientific research institutes and marine educational institutions. Operational results of Russian port sector are based on statistics reports and cover all stevedoring companies operating in the Russian Federation.
