Vyborg Shipyard launches lead freezing trawler of Project КМТ02, Nord-Pilgrim

On 3 September 2019, Vyborg Shipyard (a company of United Shipbuilding Corporation) launched the lead 80-meter long freezing trawler of Project КМТ02, Nord-Pilgrim, says press center of Marine Engineering Bureau, the ship designer. 
 
The lead ship was ordered by Nord-Pilgrim.

The ship is primarily intended for trawling of bottom/deep sea species of fish (cod, haddock, sea perch, catfish) and shrimps, processing and freezing of the catch.

Characteristics: LOA – about 80.40 m; BOA – 15.40 m; depth to main deck – 6.15 m; depth to trawl deck – 9.10 m; draft max – 8.90 m; freezing hold capacity – about 2,050 cbm; fish flour hold capacity – about 260 cbm.

The vessel is supposed to operate in the North Atlantic including Greenland, Canada, Iceland, Spitzbergen and the Barents Sea.
 
The lead ship of Project КМТ02, Nord-Pilgrim, was laid down on 16 January 2018, the second ship in the series, Yury Matochkin – on 1 November 2018.

Vyborg Shipyard PJSC (part of state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation from 2012) is one of the largest shipbuilding companies of the North-Western Region of Russia. From the date of its foundation in 1948 the Shipyard has built 210 different vessels, 9 offshore drilling rigs and 105 topside modules for fixed offshore platforms with total displacement of over 1,550,000 t.
