Volga Shipping Company converted three tankers into multipurpose dry cargo carriers
Three dry cargo carriers of Volga Shipping Company converted from Volga-Flot tankers of Project 05074Т have left for their first commercial voyages upon completion of modernization. According to the statement of the shipping company, the ships are involved in transportation of metal from Cherepovets.
The 5,450-dwt ships that have undergone conversion are also intended for transportation of general cargo and dry bulk cargo including grain, timber and granulated sulfur.
The conversion of tankers into multipurpose dry cargo carriers has been completed in 2019 by Volga Shipping Company’s subsidiary Borremflot (Nizhny Novgorod Region).
According to the statement of Volga Shipping Company, this project is of special importance since the mastering of conversion and large-scale modernization of its own fleet enables the company fulfill similar orders through creation of optimal conditions for extension of safe and profitable operation of ships.

It is a double-screw vessel with a double bottom and double sides, numbering four cargo holds.
Length – 138.30 m, width — 16.70 m, depth — 5.50 m.
Deadweight at summer load waterline of 3.70 m — 5,450 t.
Navigation area — inland water ways of the Russian Federation of category M and coastal areas of category М-ПР 2,5 without international voyage.
