General Dynamics NASSCO, a unit of defense contractor General Dynamics Corp, said  it was awarded a $460 million contract for the T-AKE dry cargo ammunition ship.
The contract is to build a tenth ship and buy materials for an eleventh. Construction on the tenth ship is due to start in January 2009, with delivery planned for the fourth quarter of 2010.
