UCLH (Netherlands) consolidates assets of Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg

Universal Cargo Logistics Holding B.V. (UCLH, Netherlands) has completed acquisition of a 97.01-percent shareholding in Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg OJSC and 100 percent in the Group’s four stevedoring companies from the former owners - Jysk Stalindustry ApS and Chupit Limited, press center of the joint stock company reports. As of today, transport holding UCLH controls the Group of Companies Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg OJSC and Commercial Seaport of Taganrog OJSC. Besides, it is a co-owner of Universal Transshipment Complex OJSC in the port of Ust-Luga.

The Holding’s development strategy envisages consolidation of transport assets including those related to sea, river and railway transportation as well as to stevedoring activities.

The throughput of UCLH exceeds 14 million tonnes per year. By 2010 it plans to handle at least 45 million tonnes. The Group of Companies Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg OJSC comprises First Stevedoring Company, Second Stevedoring Company, Third Stevedoring Company, Forth Stevedoring Company and a number of service companies.
