In January 2008, throughput of Kaliningrad Commercial Seaport grew by 82,300 tonnes, year-on-year, to 475,500 tonnes, the port’s press center reports. In the reported period, export grew by 76,000 tonnes to 399,500 tonnes, import – by 6,300 tonnes to 76,000 tonnes. Transshipment of containers grew by 4,205 TEU to 12,034 TEU. Export of heavy fuel oil increased by 26,800 tonnes to 67,700 tonnes. Export of coal and coke totaled 72,800 tonnes (+19,100 tonnes), rolled metal – 99,100 tonnes (+3,900 tonnes), bulk fertilizers – 33,000 tonnes (+19,600 tonnes). In 2008, the port plans to handle over 5 million tonnes of different cargo.
