Container throughput of Latvian ports up 17% in Jan 08, y-o-y, to 18,364 TEU In January 2008, three main ports of Latvia handled 18,364 TEU (+17.3%, year-on-year), Latvia’s Ministry of Communications reports according to Interfax. The port of Riga handled 16,650 TEU (+19.2%), Ventspils - 1,268 TEU (+18.7%), Liepаja - 446 TEU (-27.5%). In 2007, the ports of Latvia handled 236,351 TEU (+18.8%, year-on-year). The port of Riga handled 211,840 TEU (+19.8%).
