Boat from missing ship found in Japan responsibility zone

A motorboat from the missing dry cargo ship Captain Uskov was found on Wednesday in the Japanese zone of responsibility, sources from the press service of the Russian Transport Ministry told reporters according to Itar-Tass. Japan’s coast guard reported on the boat at 9:22 am, Moscow time.

Search for the missing ship has continued since January 24. It went missing in the East China Sea after it left the Russian port of Nakhodka with some 4,500 tons of metal on January 15 and never reached the port of destination, Hong Kong.

According to the Transport Ministry, there has been no contact with the Russian crew of 17 since January 20. The ship was flying the Cambodian flag.
