Brøvigs Rederi in Southern Norway has placed orders at Shuang Dong Shipyard for two, option two stainless steel chemical tankers of 4,400 DWT each for delivery 2010 for the firm orders. The contract price is said to be around USD 20 million per vessel. Brøvig is currently taking delivery of five 9,000 DWT product/chemical tankers from Dong Fang shipyard in China. These vessels were ordered at USD 16 million each and a 50 per cent stake was sold to JB Ugland Shipping. In December Brøvig bought the 4,600 DWT product/chemical tankers Lider Yaman (built 2006) and Lider Kerem (built 2004). The current fleet also includes 4,200 DWT Brøvig Breeze (built 2006) and Brøvig Wind (built 2005). Both these vessels are placed on time charters.
