State Fishing Committee considers the model of future fish exchanges. It is assumed that large fishing companies will act as co-founders of fish stock exchanges. Investments into the development of 7-10 fish exchanges in Russia will total EUR50 million, FIS reports. Preparatory works are to be completed by April 2008 and the first pilot fish exchange is to start operations in a test mode on July 1, 2008 and in regular mode from January 1, 2009. An exchange for trading fish resources is to be created on the base of the European-Asian exchange. Five branches of this exchange will be created in the regions.
