Throughput of port Kaliningrad down 9% to 8.67 mln t in 9M’16

In January-September 2016, the port of Kaliningrad handled 8,678,700 t of cargo (-9%, year-on-year), says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.

Transshipment of dry bulk cargo declined by 4% to 1,032,700 t including 15,600 t of mineral fertilizers (-60%) and 479,000 t of coal (+53%).

Transshipment of dry loose cargo increased by 10% to 3.03 mln t, transshipment of general cargo declined by 3% to 1,115,000 t.

The port’s container throughput increased by 11.4% to 140,347 TEUs.

Transshipment of cargoes carried by ferries totaled 914,300 (-36%), liquid bulk cargo – 1.83 mln t (-24%) including 841,800 t of oil products (-37%), 579,600 t of crude oil (-4%) and 381,700 t of food cargo (-14%).
