The Global Dredging Forum will be held Oct. 2-3 2019 at Hilton Canary Wharf, London. The forum will be chaired by Richard Ballantyne, Chief Executive, British Ports Association, the event organiser Informa reported.
The forum announcement reads: "Ports are increasingly having to expand and maintain their channels to accommodate evolving ships and trade routes. The event will be looking at port growth and contractual opportunities through capital dredging, with detailed case studies on dredging projects from around the world. Maintenance dredging is also an essential process for many ports and harbours to ensure their channels meet the correct under keel clearance. Dredging operators, ports and industry associations will discuss when is the best time for a port to dredge, how are dredging projects financed and what is the regulatory process?”
Global Dredging Forum will bring together the following stakeholders:
The event topics include: Delivering worldwide dredging in an era of climate change and sustainability; Global maritime trade and the corresponding need for port growth and infrastructure development; Industry benchmarks for ports dredging; Regulatory overview – how do different regulatory bodies such as the MMO manage applications and structure licenses; Data collection for capital dredging; Case studies on capital dredging projects from around the world; Innovative methods for maintenance dredging.
