Russian Railways' network loading down 0.8% to 1.17 billion tonnes in 11M’2019

In January-November 2019, the network of Russian Railways loaded 1.17 billion tonnes of cargo, down 0.8%, year-on-year, the Company’s press center says.

In the reporting period, the railways shipped the following goods: coal – 341,4 million tonnes (-0.4%, year-on-year); coke – 9.84 million tonnes (-3.7%); crude and oil products– 211 million tonnes (-2.1%); iron and manganese ore – 110.2 million tonnes (+3.6%); ferrous metal – 67.3 million tonnes (-5.5%); ferrous metal scrap – 13.7 million tonnes (-7.5%); chemical and mineral fertilizers – 55.5 million tonnes (+3.1%); cement – 24.8 million tonnes (+4.5%); timber – 38.4 million tonnes (-8.3%); grain – 19.4 million tonnes (-21.4%); construction materials – 115 million tonnes (-0.1%); non-ferrous ore and sulphur feedstock  – 17.9 million tonnes (-2.5%); chemicals and soda – 23.8 million tonnes (-1%); industrial feedstock and moulded materials – 32.4 million tonnes (-0.1%).

From the beginning of 2019, freight turnover totaled 2,382.6 billion tariff ton-km (+0.4%). Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run – 3,028.4 billion ton-km (+0.3%).

In November, Russian Railways’ loading totaled 105.5 million tonnes (-1.7%, year-on-year).

Freight turnover in November declined by 3.3% to 213.2 billion tariff ton-km. Freight turnover taking into account empty wagon run fell by 3.4% to 271.6 billion ton-km.
