On prospects of international railway service development

    - The share of international traffic at the network of Russian Railways has exceeded 29% - it is a very good result. More than 20% of international cargo goes via the seaports of Russia, in the first quarter of 2016 – more than 23%. Meanwhile, international traffic including intermodal transportation involving different types of transport is hindered by a number of factors. Among them are imperfection of the fiscal systems, certification and customs control, legal framework. There is another aspect – e-document management. Russian Railways and Russia have made a decisive move today and are willing to address … these issues.

...The task of Russian Railways through 2020 is to achieve its performance targets including 10-pct share transit along the East-West and North-South international corridors and up to 8% in the Eurasian Space.

From the report at the 21st International Exhibition for Transport and Logistics Services and Technologies “TransRussia-2016".
