Vyacheslav Shport, The Governor of The Khabarovsk Territory, on the development of railway approaches to the port of Vanino:

- Turnover has increased. Investment in railways development has already yielded good results. Last year 4 billion rubles were invested in the Reconstruction of BAM area. Port Vanino is very important project -, Sovetskaya Gavan. According to the volumes, declared by investors, today there are up to 100 million tons. They say such figures will be reached by 2020. That is why this project was launched in time. Now people go to work, and considerable results are reached, including revenues in the budget.

... In the port of Vanino the Bulk Terminal was built - SUEK  company – with a great capacity to transport 12.5 million tons of coal, it  also gives good effect. Just for this reason we need a railway road.
