- According to the decree of RF Government, the Arctic Forum will be held in Arkhangelsk on a regular basis, once in two years. This document confirms an evident thing: Arkhangelsk is an international capital of the Arctic. It will host the discussions and making of solutions aimed at improvement of activities by all Arctic countries set to operate in high latitudes.
The interest to the Forum which will bring together 1,600 participants is driven by the central theme - ‘People and the Arctic’. It will be considered at different levels: international, Russian and municipal.
The event will comprise a forum involving the Governors of the Arctic territories, an educational forum for young people “Arctic. Made in Russia” and panels involving representatives of Arctic municipalities focused on discussion of local issues.
One of the central events will be the meeting of the State Commission for Arctic Development and Russian-Chinese meeting on economic cooperation.
Hosting the ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ forum featuring the President and heads of other countries, Ministries of Foreign Affairs, heads of constituent entities of Russia, representatives of scientific and business communities is not only an honour but also a high responsibility for the Arkhangelsk Region.
Therefore, special attention is paid to the hospitality infrastructure: transport, accommodation and catering.
