On July 31, 2017, in the framework of the international cooperation project in the sphere of professional training “Marine Recruiting Agency” (MRA) launched the first stage of professional training organized for the employees of SILSTEVE – multi-functional terminal in the port of Sillamae in Estonia.
The workers will complete training in the profession “Crane driver operating ship-to-shore container crane (STS)”.
The process of crane driver’s training consists of three stages. During the first stage which lasts two weeks trainees will master theoretical course in the training centre of Sillamae port. The second stage will include training on STS simulators, imitating crane container operations, at the unique simulator complex (RTG and STS) of MRA in Saint-Petersburg. The final stage will include practical training on the quays of the terminal SILSTEVE under the supervision of MRA’s instructor. The total duration of the project will be one and a half month.
MRA’s training programmes are available for both legal and natural persons. They include training in port, road construction and warehousing trades. MRA’s specialists have also developed on-line learning programmes. MRA’s graduates are currently working in almost all the large stevedoring companies of the Greater Port of Saint-Petersburg, as well as in the ports of Leningrad region, Yamalo-Nenets autonomous district, Murmansk, Archangelsk, Taganrog and Tuapse.
