Container throughput of Finnish ports up 3.3% to 376,963 TEU in Q1 08
In the first quarter of 2008, container throughput of Finnish ports totaled 376,963 TEU (+3.3%, year-on-year), Finnish Ports Association reports.
The largest volumes of containerized cargo were handled by the port of Kotka – 136,966 TEU (+11.1%, year-on-year) including 71,204 TEU of import (+13.2%) and 65,762 TEU of export (+8.8%).
The second result was demonstrated by Helsinki – 106,235 TEU (-3.1%, year-on-year) including 55,720 TEU of import (-3.9%) and 50,515 TEU of import (-2.1%).
The port of Hamina handled 43,235 TEU (-1.7%) including 24,204 TEU of import (+2.6%) and 19,031 TEU of export (-6.6%).
