NWA's Asia/USEC service to resume weekly frequencies
New World Alliance shipping lines APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine and MOL, along with CMA CGM, have recommenced weekly sailings on their joint Asia/US east coast service.
The service, called the East Coast Savannah Express (ESX) by New World Alliance members, and SAX by CMA CGM, had been downgraded to a fortnightly service in mid-December and was scheduled to switch back to a weekly frequency by the end of March, reports the American Shipper.
As a result of the greater frequency, the service's capacity has been doubled to use eight 4,800-TEU containerships.
The port rotation is: Ningbo, Shanghai, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Manzanillo, Savannah, New York, Norfolk and back to Ningbo.
