Southern Transport Lines celebrates 5-year anniversary

One of the leaders of Russia’s market of customs & logistics services, Southern Transport Lines LLC (STL Rostov Region), celebrates its 5-year anniversary, the company’s press center says.

Major activities of STL have been focused on operating of CLT Novoshakhtinsky (customs & logistics terminal, Rostov Region). The company is a part of RTL Group.

In 2007, RTL management made an investment decision on construction of Novoshakhtinsky  terminal to its own costs. The first phase of the project was put into operation in 2008. In March  2009, STL becomes an operator of the new automobile terminal in Novoshakhtinsk. This project proved to be a success from the first days of its operation. Over the first year the terminal handled over 40,000 Chevrolet and Toyota cars.

From June 2009, the terminal in Novoshakhtinsk is the first in the region to have a temporary storage warehouse of closed type. A year later, temporary storage warehouse of open type appears at the terminal for all goods under customs control.

In February 2011, STL held a ceremonial inauguration of Customs $ Logistics Terminal Novoshakhtinsky with Nesvetaysky customs point. From that moment, all cargoes crossing the border of the Russian Federation arrive to the terminal for customs procedures.

From March 2013, CTL Novoshakhtinsky of STL LLC has been using railways for accepting automobiles from Sesvetay station (North-Caucasus Railway).

In November 2013, STL opens an office in Novorossiysk for providing forwarding services a seaport, customs services and door-to-door delivery of cargoes by all types of transport.

Over the 5-year period, STL has handled about 50,000 cargo vehicles, over 100,000 passenger cars, generated some 50 jobs in Rostov Region and signed over 2,000 agreements.

Today the company cooperates with the following brands TANDER CJSC, GLORIA JEANS CORPORATION CJSC, BELLA-DON LLC, BILD CJSC, GUARDIAN STEKLO Corporation, DONETSKAYA MANUFAKTURA PJSC, Sollers, Kingcoal, Mazda, Luxgen.

STL LLC and RTL Group LLC are not complacent with their achievements. The development strategy of CLT Novoshakhtinsky implies the expansion of the territory and the capacity as well as the development of infrastructure facilities.

Southern Transport Lines is the operator of CLT Novoshakhtinsky and is a part of RTL Group.

In the southern region of Russia, Novoshakhtinsky is the first customs & logistics terminal complying with the concept of customs clearance and control at locations close to the state border of the Russian Federation.

CLT Novoshakhtinsky and STL LLC is a state-of-the-art storage facility providing the entire range of services in the sphere of foreign trade activities. It fully meets the European standards of planning and designing.

CLT "Novoshakhtinsky" is located in the south of Russia, in the city of Novoshakhtinsk of the Rostov region near large transport knots: in 10 km from the Russian-Ukrainian border, in 20 km from the route M4 "Don".   Convenient location of the terminal makes it to be attractive for handling cargo flows delivered both by automobiles from Europe, Ukraine and Turkey and by marine transport from China.

The terminal occupies the territory of 50 hectares with the operating facilities covering only 20 hectares. State-of-the-art information technologies applied at the terminal enable it to simplify and accelerate customs clearance procedures.

The terminal applies advanced information technologies to accelerate and simplify customs clearance of goods through e-declaration. It contributes to prompt and transparent flow of documents as well as to optimization of transport logistics and reduction of foreign trade operators’ costs.

Major functions of CLT Novoshakhtinsky: services of temporary storage warehouse, customs clearance, full range of logistics services, consignment warehouse services, certification of goods.
