  Береговая охрана США заказала седьмое патрульное судно класса Legend на верфи HII

  Подразделение Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Ingalls Shipbuilding получила контракт от Береговой охраны США на строительство седьмого по счету патрульного судна-перехватчика (National Security Cutter / NSC) класса Legend (WMSL 756), говорится в сообщении американской судостроительной группы. Передача судна в эксплуатацию запланирована на 2018 год.
  
  Стоимость контракта (фиксированная цена + поощрительная премия) составляет $497 млн.
  
  Верфь Ingalls Shipbuilding уже передала в эксплуатацию первые три судна этой серии. Еще три судна находятся в стадии строительства: Hamilton (WMSL 753) завершен на 81% и будет передан в III квартале 2014 года; James (WMSL 754) выполнен на 52% и будет спущен на воду в апреле. Строительство шестого судна (WMSL 755) началось в конце прошлого года и его спуск планируется в IV квартале 2015 года.
  
  Новая серия придет на смену флоту 115.2-метровых патрульных катеров класса Hamilton, которые несут службу с 1960-х годов. Суда класса Legend имеют длину 127,4 м, ширину -16,5 м, водоизмещение 4,5 тонн, максимальная скорость - 28 узлов, дальность плавания — 12 тыс. миль, автономность - 60 дней. Экипаж судна - 110 человек.
  
  Суда могут быть использованы для перехвата подозрительных судов, для спасения терпящих бедствие, защиты рыболовства, выполнения различных задач внутренней безопасности, борьбы с терроризмом, а также патрулирования прибрежной полосы.
  
  Группа компаний Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) проектирует, строит и ремонтирует ядерные и неядерные суда для ВМС США и береговой охраны и обеспечивает послепродажное обслуживание военных судов по всему миру. Создана в 31 марта 2011 года. в результате отделения от Northrop Gumman. Штат сотрудников группы насчитывает около 37 тыс. человек.
