On June 26, 2015, ceremonial passage of the first vessel was held at the new lock of hydroengineering complex Kuzminsk, Oka river, press center of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency says.
The ceremony was attended by the representatives of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency), Governor of the Ryazan Region, building company Moscow Canal and general contractor Stal LLC.
It was a milestone event marking the completion of the first phase of the new hydroengineering complex replacing the one built in 1914.
“Launching of hydroengineering complex Kuzminsk will … let reopen the tourist route “Moscow circumnavigation” and increase loading of vessels,” the statement says.
