    MOL проводит демонстрационные испытания ветрозащитного экрана на своем судне MOL Marvel (фото)

    Специалисты Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) 3 сентября 2015 года приступили к демонстрационным испытаниям нового ветрозащитного щита, установленного в носовой части контейнеровоза MOL MARVEL, сообщает пресс-служба судоходной компании.

    В компании считают, что наличие специального ветрозащитного экрана поможет уменьшить сопротивление ветра и сэкономить топливо. При проведении испытаний инженеры будут определять, насколько данное устройство помогает снизить выбросы CO2.

    Технология была разработана MOL совместно с четырьмя партнерами: MOL Techno-Trade, Ltd., Ouchi Ocean Consultant, Inc., Akishima Laboratory (Mitsui Zosen) Inc., и Токийским университетом. Проект был поддержан в рамках программы по научно-конструкторским разработкам для применения в индустрии, под руководством классификационного общества ClassNK (Nippon Kaiji Kyokai).  

    У современных крупных контейнеровозов, высота контейнеров, погруженных на палубу, увеличилась, что увеличивает сопротивление ветра. Разработка нового устройства началась с определения оптимальной аэродинамической формы носовой части при испытаниях в аэродинамической трубе. В результате был спроектирован щит в форме подковы, который закрывает передний ряд контейнеров от ветра, уменьшая сопротивление ветра при минимизации веса самого корпуса. Новое ветрозащитное устройство достаточно прочно и отвечает требованиям ClassNK к устойчивости к силе ударной волны.

    По расчетам MOL среднегодовое сокращение выбросов CO2 с судна составит 2% с учетом того, что устройство установлено на судне вместимостью 6,7 тыс. TEUs и следующего по маршруту в северной части Тихого океана со скоростью 17 узлов. Новое ветрозащитное устройство также должно защитить суда от заливания водой носовой палубы во время плавания в штормовую погоду.
