Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” presents tourist potential of St. Petersburg for German tourism companies and media
Representatives of “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC have participated in the Presentation of the tourist potential of St. Petersburg for German tourism companies and media that took place on November 9th 2015 in the Embassy of Russian Federation in Berlin, press center of Marine Façade says.
The event was opened with a welcome speech of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russian Federation in the Federal Republic of Germany; a minute of silence was observed in memory of the victims of the crash of a Russian airplane above the territory of the Sinai peninsula in Egypt. The Ambassador has addressed the difficult situation in the tourist exchange between Russia and Germany, and pointed out a decrease in tourist flows in both directions. The Embassy of Russian Federation in the Federal Republic of Germany actively supports the tourist community of Russia, also by promoting the tourist products of St. Petersburg via the consular services of Russian Federation in Germany. The moderator of the event – representative of the St. Petersburg Committee on the Development of Tourism – encouraged the participants to benefit from the unique opportunity to visit our city, considering the improved purchasing power of foreign tourists due to the devaluation of the national currency of Russian Federation.
The Commercial Director of “Passenger Port of Saint Petersburg “Marine Façade” PLC has made a presentation about the capacities of Passenger port of Saint Petersburg and plans for its development, especially highlighting the role of German tourists who constitute the biggest part of the port’s passenger traffic.
Among the participants were companies ST PETER LINE, Baltic Travel Company, the Astoria hotel, Harley Days and other participants of the tourist market of the city. The event was visited by over one hundred representatives of German tourist companies and media. After the presentations the meeting continued in a free communication format – the participants had a chance to exchange contact information and took part in a raffle with prizes from the partners of the event.
Passenger Port of Saint-Petersburg «Marine Façade» PLC is in the ownership of the city of St. Petersburg and is the largest passenger seaport in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. The port can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of up to 330 m long and with a draft of up to 8.8 m. The length and depth of new access channels - 10 km and 11 m, accordingly. The port operates seven piers. The quay-side length – 2,171.06 m.
