RZD promotes Vladimir Goloskokov to Oktyabrskaya Railway chief
Chief of the North Caucasian Railway Vladimir Goloskokov, 55, was appointed the Head of Oktyabrskaya Railway, a branch of state-owned rail company Russian Railways, RZD said in a media release. The appointment was announced on January 22 by President of Russian Railways (RZD) Oleg Belozerov at a meeting with the staff of Oktyabrskaya Railway (OZD), heads of branches and subsidiaries of RZD.
Taking the helm of OZD, Vladimir Goloskokov, who joined the RZD branch back in 1985 as OZD duty yardmaster, train dispatcher said he would continue the traditions of the company and RZD.
Vladimir Goloskokov, D. Sc., was born in 1961 in the village of Petropavlovka, Taldy-Kurgan region. In 1985 he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Railway Engineers and in 1998 from the Academy of National Economy under the Government of the Russian Federation. After graduation he worked as duty yardmaster of Oktyabrskaya Railway and a train dispatcher. Between 1987 and 1991 was headed of the Olenogorsk rail station, in 1991 – 1994 he was deputy, and later head of cargo and commercial operations of Murmansk branch of Oktyabrskaya Railway. From 1994 through 1997 he was first deputy head of the Murmansk branch of Oktyabrskaya Railway. In 1997 – 1998 - Head of the Murmansk Passenger Service Directorate. Between 1998 and 2001 Goloskokov was the head of the OZD”s Murmansk branch. From 2001 through 2003 he headed the St. Petersburg branch of OZD. In 2003 – 2006 he was Deputy Head of North Caucasus Railway Passenger Transport. Prior to the latest appointment he was appointed Chief Engineer of the North Caucasus Railway (May 2006) and on December 2006 he was promoted to the Head of the North Caucasian Railway.
