In 2015, PJSC Sovfracht handled 1.7 mln freight tons at port Sabetta, the Company told IAA PortNews.
“Unlike the cargo operations of 2014, when Sovfracht provided cargo owners with a service package including organization of loading at the ports of Murmansk, Arkhangelsk and sea freight services, in 2015 the Company focused on transshipment of cargo at port Sabetta and on transportation of cargo to the customers’ warehouses on the Yamal,” the Company explained.
Handling operations at port Sabetta are performed at the so-called ‘preparatory phase facilities’ which are the berths accepting construction materials and technological modules of the LNG plant being built on the Yamal peninsula.
From 2015, customs operations are done in Sabetta, there is no need to call at intermediate ports of the Russian Federation for customs clearance.
