    Администрация Панамского канала вводит ограничения по осадке судов, следующих транзитом

    Администрация Панамского канала (ACP) опубликовала рекомендации для судоходства, которыми устанавливаются предварительные ограничения для всех судовых агентов, судовладельцев и операторов, пользующихся каналом, говорится в сообщении АСР.

    Эти временные и профилактические меры осуществляются в связи с ожидаемыми погодными изменениями, вызванными климатическим явлением «Эль-Ниньо» в результате периодического потепления в тропической части Тихого океана. Эль-Ниньо может изменить картину осадков во многих регионах планеты. В данном случае, последствием стала засуха и значительное для этого времени года падение уровня воды в озерах Гатун и Алахуэла.

    Рекомендации, устанавливающие требования к максимальной осадке для судов в 11,89 м для тропической пресной воды (TFW), вводятся с 18 апреля 2015 года. Максимально разрешенная для прохождения по каналу осадка определяется, как самая глубокая точка в тропической пресной воде для каждого конкретного судна в озере Гатун. Отмечается, что временные ограничения принимаются в целях обеспечения непрерывного и безопасного функционирования канала в течение этого периода. 

    Груженные суда имеющие осадку превышающую 11,89 м (39,0 фута) до 21 марта 2016 года не будут пропускаться через канал по соображениям безопасности. Суда, загруженные после 21 марта, должны соответствовать новым ограничениям по осадке.

    Администрация Панамского канала продолжить отслеживать и управлять уровнем воды. В случае подтверждения дальнейших ограничений, уведомление будет выдаваться не менее чем за четыре недели до их введения, чтобы владельцы и операторы могли планировать свои действия.
