NIBULON’s fleet will be increased significantly

NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard says it continues constructing two 121M project tugs, the seventh non-self-propelled B2000 project vessel, and a self-propelled СДС-15 project dredger.

On April 6, 2017, NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard launched the first 121M project tug – Yurii Makarov, which was named after a legendary Mykolaiv shipbuilder.

While the outfitting works on the first vessel are being continued, NIBULON’s shipbuilders continue constructing two other 121M project tugs (named after other prominent Mykolaiv shipbuilders), the seventh non-self-propelled B2000 project vessel, and a self-propelled СДС-15 project dredger.

The second 121M project tug – Anatolii Hankevych: the specialists completed formation of the strength hull of the tug; tests of the strength hull for tightness are being finished. The ship foundations are mounted; the specialists are testing spaces and tanks for tightness. In addition, the specialists are mounting a propulsion unit and deck gears. External doors and portholes have already been installed; the specialists started installation of spaces insulation. Electric and fitter’s items and mechanical and fitter’s items are being installed; pipelines are being produced and mounted.

The third 121M project tug – Nodari Chanturiia: the shipbuilders complete forming the strength hull of the tug on the building berth, in particular fabrication, installing welding equipment in parallel.

The seventh non-self-propelled B2000 project vessel: the strength hull is being formed: assembly of units No. 1-7 is performed on the building berth; the specialists are assembling unit No. 6; production of section of units No. 8-10 is being finished.

The СДС-15 project self-propelled dredger: To perform dredging on the Dnipro River, NIBULON is building a self-propelled dredger able to dredge up to 15 m, including the limiting areas of the Dnipro and the Dniprodzerzhynsk Reservoirs. The design idea belongs to NIBULON.

At present the specialists of metal processing workshop are producing parts for the strength hull.

Both tugs will be launched at NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard (Mykolaiv) in May 2017.

This is important that both 121M project tugs and the seventh non-self-propelled B2000 project vessel follow Yurii Makarov tug and will have been put into operation by July 1, 2017; thereby they will start operating before the new marketing year.

Thus, NIBULON will be able to transport up to 4 million tons of cargoes per year by Ukrainian waterways due to its fleet.

In addition to a series of the 121M project tugs and the B2000 project non-self-propelled vessels, NIBULON shipbuilding and repair yard will launch 24 non-self-propelled vessels of modernized B4000 project, a self-propelled dredger, two multipurpose seagoing tugs of 3  500 hp and 5 000 hp, a non-self-propelled floating crane and others in 2017-2022.
