NOVATEK and Rosneft confirm their plans on implementation of projects in the Murmansk Region, press center of Murmansk Region Government cites Marina Kovtun, head of the region, as saying in the report on regional government’s activities.

Kolskaya Verf (Kola Shipyard, subsidiary of NOVATEK) embarks on implementation of the project on creation of a center for construction of large capacity offshore facilities at Belokamenka settlement. The center will cover the territory of more than 150 hectares and will feature production facilities for manufacturing of metal structures and processing line modules; two dry docks, unique in their size; a rotational camp. The construction will begin in June 2017, expert evaluation of the project documentation.

Total value of the project, according to updated information of the company, will make RUB 50 bln. This ambitious project, with its scope of investments and generation of at least 6,500 jobs, has been given the status of a strategic investment project of the Murmansk Region.

The project of Rosneft on creation of a coastal supply base for offshore projects at the site of the 82 Shiprepair Dockyard is not “frozen”.

Marina Kovtun says the company management confirms the plans on its implementation.

Rosneft has launched manufacturing of wellhead equipment at its Sapfir plant registered in the region (Sapphire plant). Design and survey works in Roslyakovo will start this year.

“In our turn, we will continue creating comfortable environment for implementation of NOVATEK and Rosneft projects. With them we are going to achieve our strategic goal – new specialization of the regional economy and implementation of the long-term strategy for the development of the region, according to which our region is to become a strategic center of Russia’s Arctic zone,” emphasized the Governor.

In late April, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed an order on reassignment of lands from the forest category to the industrial category so that NOVATEK could place it center for construction of large capacity offshore facilities.

According to the Russian government's order dated February 18, 2015 (№243-p) the coastal supply base for offshore projects of Rosneft will be located at the site of the 82 Shiprepair Dockyard (JSC "82 SRZ", Roslykovo, Murmansk region).
