    Russian Railways team wins Ust-Luga Cup 2017 (photo)

    Winners of the sixth regatta Ust-Luga Cup were awarded in Saint-Petersburg on 16 June 2017, reports IAA PortNews correspondent. The team of Russian Railways (yacht Loko) won Ust-Luga Cup 2017, for the first time in the regatta history.

    The regatta participants were awarded by Victor Olersky, Deputy Minister of Transport, head of Federal Marine and River Transport Agency. 

    “Ust-Luga Cup has become a traditional regatta, 6 years is a serious period. I am sure the year of 2018 will also see the regatta, the legs of the next races and other aspects are already under discussion,” Victor Olersky said at the ceremony. 

    According to him, such events have only positive impact on the industry development. “Participation in such events as Ust-Luga Cup contributes to a better cooperation of people working together,” emphasizes Victor Olersky.  

    The final race from Loviisa to Kotka was held on June 15.

    Group I: Loko, Korushka, Anna
    Group II: Premium, Olympic
    Group III: Solitaire, Pegasus, Gloria, Jessika, Victoria

    1. Loko (Russian Railways) - 7
    2. Korushka (Ust-Luga Company OJSC and Commercial Sea Port of Ust-Luga) - 9
    3. Anna (SMM) - 14

    Group II:

    1. Premium (Morstroytechnology -2) - 6
    2. Olympic (Eesti Raudtee) - 9

    Group III:

    1. Pegasus (Morspassluzhba) — 7
    2. Victoria (Russian Maritime Register of Shipping) — 14
    3. Gloria (Murmansk Commercial Seaport) — 16
    4. Solitaire (Transmashholdig) — 16
    5. Jessika (Morstroytechnology -1) — 22

    Ust-Luga Cup involving the teams representing transport and related sectors is being held on the Baltic Sea on June 10 – 16, 2017. 

    The first Baltic Regatta Ust-Luga Cup was held in June, 2012. The Regatta is held under the auspices of Russia's Transport Ministry and Russian Sailing Federation.
